It all came out first at my mentors. I was feeling a bit thick about exegesis and asked some questions. He told me he had been given an explanation in one of the units on his course. They have changed the course since he did it so we both thought that perhaps it had been left out of the one I am doing. So he photocopied the relevant pages and gave them to me. They are extremely informative. Then I went to my tutor later in the week and told him about this and asked if I had missed these pages or were they coming up in later units. No he said that they were contained in the yellow booklet I had received at the start of the course with the package of units. I said what yellow booklet!!! So I have been missing an essential part of my course from day one. I don't think my first assignment will be very good as it was done under a misapprehension of what I was supposed to be doing.
At least I don't feel so thick any more, you can't know what you haven't been told after all, but I do begin to wonder if I am meant to be doing this. It seems to have been a struggle one way or another since I started what with the cancer and everything. Anyway after today the Local Preachers meeting will say what they think about me so far and that should put me on the right track. I shall be very disappointed if they do not think I am good enough but will accept it as God's will.
